Happy New Year! This is where I usually try to wax poetic about starting fresh, setting goals, and that other jazz, but I simply haven't time to do that today. Once again I am preparing to head back to Duke Divinity for my second intensive. I am sleep deprived from ringing in the New Year with loved ones and then trying to pack (and read) for Duke. I do have a whole piece I want to share on an important change in my approach to setting and achieving goals, but I will simply have to wait until I get back.
In the meantime, I did want to share that my hubby got me a new sewing machine for Christmas and I was able to sew my first little black dress. I used a Vogue pattern (V1314) that Mimi G. reviewed on her blog. It is totally flawed and the construction is sloppy, but I just love it. I love it because I didn't have to do it perfectly in order to feel a sense of accomplishment; all I had to do was just do it. That's an important lesson for combatting my perfectionism-procrastination-paralysis as it relates to my schoolwork.
Well, gotta run. I have three more books to read by tomorrow.
