Road Tripping

Giving myself a once over before heading out

Giving myself a once over before heading out

I am exhausted, hungry, tired, sticky, ready to get out of my clothes, and I wish I was home. And I feel AWESOMELY EXHILARATED!!! Why? It’s because for the first time in a while, I preached at the level I know I should be preaching at.

It was a totally different feeling than usual. There are a number of reasons why I felt this time was different which I will probably take the time to detail in a video later. For now I just thank God for showing up so powerfully in the preaching moment. I’m also very grateful to my friend Pastor Mulraine and his congregation for their hospitality. They were warm and welcoming which made my time there memorable.

I also learned a huge lesson about how I need to approach my preaching engagements in NY. In a lapse in judgment, I decided to let my husband drive me to NY rather than take the train since it’s technically home. That was HUGE mistake smh. For one, I didn’t get to my hotel in NY until after 9pm which left me very little time that night to continue shaping my Word. Secondly after service I was starving because I’d been fasting, but I had to wait for him to pick me up from the church. Then we had to go straight to my mother in law’s house, so it was quite some time before I actually ate something. If I’d taken the train up, I would have been able to go to a restaurant of my choice a lot sooner than I actually got to eat. Next time I will NOT make the mistake of treating my preaching engagement like any other quick trip home. Thank goodness I had the good sense to spend the night at the hotel!
